PHILIPPE GIRARD - FOLEY & ASSOCIATES

MALAYSIA

We have a unique position in Malaysia, where Philippe GIRARD-FOLEY has been authorised to set up in Federal Territory by the Malaysian Bar Council in 1996.

A full member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of London, Malaysian branch, Philippe has been appointed to be on the Panel of Arbitrators of the Asian International Arbitration Centre in Kuala Lumpur for the term 2018-2021. He is active with AIAC, having been inter alia an Arbitrator for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Philippe is also General Counsel and legal and tax representative of the Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

We advise Asian, North American and Middle Eastern businesses wanting to invest or just do business in Africa, which includes sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa (the Maghreb).

As is the case in the Asia Pacific area, we rely on a network of correspondents and contacts and on our own in-depth knowledge of local legislation, especially OHADA (*).

We advise on structuring deals, then monitor their implementation, and are ready to fix problems the moment they arise. We assist as counsel in commercial disputes, relying in part on our dual qualification in international arbitration.
