Philippe GIRARD-FOLEY, founder of the firm, has lived and worked for twenty five years in Asia, following five years in London. He is a member of the Paris Bar, an overseas member of the Law Institute Victoria and a full Member (MCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as well as a law graduate of the Sorbonne and of the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate of Sciences Po in Paris.

In addition to his years in the corporate world (Procter & Gamble, Ford, IBM) and in private practice in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, he has advised the government of the People’s Republic of China on health and food matters in close liaison with the FAO and Codex Alimentarius, and private groups and associations on market access and import duties to Asia. He is an expert for the EU programmes China IPR SME Helpdesk and ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesk.

Philippe is the author of several publications, including chapters of "Intellectual Property Rights (Acquisition, Scope and Enforcement) in Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Vietnam" for the European programme ASIA INVEST, and of the Traité de Droit Alimentaire (Éditions Lavoisier 2013), a columnist of the Revue Française de Propriété Intellectuelle, and a keynote speaker on matters related to either IP or food law in France, other European Countries and the UK.
